Like new condition Called Chulucanas, this unique Peruvian pottery has been hand-thrown by artists for generations. A primitive local craft that dates back to pre-Incan times and gets its name from the town where it's always been made. The pottery follows an elaborate process and is tended to by several artisans. Some pound the clay to the correct consistency. Others hand-turn it on a wheel creating the vessel. Kiln specialists fire, then fire again utilizing burnt mango leaves to give the piece its signature blackened finish and unique texture. It's ancient artistry for the modern home.
