A rare find that I have never seen before and likely won't see again, this is a tea cup & saucer made by KPM (Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin, or Royal Porcelain Factory, Berlin) between 1844 and 1847 in Berlin, which at that time was the capital of Prussia (Germany had not yet been united by the Prussians). The dating is based on the mark which was only in use for 3 years. It is decorated with white flowers, green leaves, gold edging and golden leaves. Most of the gold on the inside of the cup is now gone and there is a chip in the foot of the cup (picture #9) which isn't a lot of wear for 174+ years. Founded in 1763 KPM still operates today and was once owned by the Prussian Royal family, the later Kaisers of the German Empire. The saucer is 5 3/4" wide while the cup is 2 3/4" tall with a 3 7/8" mouth.
