Beautiful mid century Jason, England corset shaped “Pinkie” teacup and saucer. Pinkie is a character often seen on different pieces of vintage porcelain. Did you know, Pinkie was an actual person, Sarah Barrett Moulton, and her grandmother commissioned Thomas Lawrence in 1794 to paint her portrait when she was just 11 years old. Her nickname was “Pinkie” or “Pinkey” and this lovely image on porcelain is also referred to as the Dainty Crinoline Lady. The cup is trimmed in a gorgeous brushed gold and has a scalloped edge.
In excellent vintage condition.
