1960s Thai Mandalay Box Co. Three Siamese Cats Carved Wood Figurines

Hand-carved guar wood trio of sitting Siamese cats in three sizes. Vintage mid-century 3D figural carvings. • Made in Thailand • Large cat measures 10" x 3" • Medium measures 8" x 2.5" • Small measures 6" x 2" • Label on bottom of small cat The history of the Mandalay Box Company goes back to about 1900, when it was organized by the British East India Company to assist with transport of the army from Calcutta to Mandalay. It was still in operation as of 2004, producing wood craft goods. I also added a photo of an ended auction listing for a trio of wood carvings from the Mandalay Box Co. for reference.
