AS-IS Vintage Mexican Classic Pulpit carved bone chess set 4.5" king and folding

...storage board, damaged and incomplete set A classic Mexican pulpit style chess set made from carved bone and hardwood. The white pieces have a nice natural mellow tone, the black pieces a glossy lacquer over a white base. Beautifully hand carved with a nice bit of weight, the pieces are composed of various tops, pin tops, pierced sides and corn husk / grain top carvings. They stand on round disc feet. The pawns are hands with daggers. This set comes with a chess board of simple construct, 2 halves on hinges and without a lock or clasp on the side. With various marks of age and use, including dents, scuffs and dings, and some sticker residue to the side where it was held closed. Condition: Missing a black pawn and half of a white base (it looks pretty much complete otherwise) and various pieces have become detached. A couple of the base discs loose and broken in half and at least one knight is missing a small piece. Size: Board size 13-5/8 inches square. King is 4.5 inches tall (11.5 cm)
