...protection Buddhist lion lucky charm statue A nicely cast and carved Shishi, Foo dog or Fu dog, made from resin to look like ivory. They would have originally come as a pair, but this one was separated from their mate - this is the Yin, or Female dog, with the cub under her foot. She is the protector of the people in the home. She is in wonderful condition, carved and polished with attention to detail and in a beautiful mellow white / yellow tone. Only a few little areas (eyes) have been painted black. She stands 6 inches tall. (15.2 cm)
